How we will reopen our school safely

Hello everyone,

Well, it has been a long twelve weeks since our Seaview family was altogether. I hope that everyone has stayed safe and well during this difficult time.

Can I start by saying a huge ‘Thank you’ and ‘Well done’ to all our children for trying so hard with the home learning activities that we have provided over the last three months? We have been delighted to see and hear about all the amazing things you have been doing at home with your families. I would also like to say a big thank you to our parents and carers for supporting your children with their home learning activities. We know that is not always easy!

We are delighted that we are able to open our doors again from June 15 and welcome back children in key year groups (Reception, Year 1 and Year 6). We have created this page on our website to let you know how we will be organising our school so that we can welcome everyone back safely. We have made quite a few changes inside the building to make sure that we are all safe. The video below shows some of those changes. Please share this video with your child if s/he is returning. It will help to prepare him / her.

All staff in school are really looking forward to seeing everyone in our school community again. We also want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of all children and staff on our return to school.

The following policies are in addition to our existing policies during Covid-19.
COVID-19 Risk Assessment
Additions to the Behaviour Policy during COVID-19
Additional Safeguarding Guidance – A response to COVID-19 update
COVID-19 Risk Assessment September 2020

We hope you find this information useful.

If after watching the video, you have any further questions,
please contact us on 0191 5813974 / seaview@durhamlearning.net or via Facebook Messenger.

With very best wishes,

Karen Field
Headteacher
